What will you do on the Walk Your Talk Somatic Movement Retreat?

Over the course of the weekend, you will have the opportunity to delve into the cutting-edge science of nervous system health, exploring how to regulate your nervous system for optimal functioning, resilience, and vitality. You'll learn how to work with the vagus nerve, which plays a critical role in our emotional and physical health, to create a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. With the latest research and tools, you'll learn how to support your nervous system's natural healing and restoration processes, and develop practices that will help you navigate stress, anxiety, and overwhelm with greater ease.

You will also dive deep into the mysterious magic of your body and experience it from a refreshed and revitalised perspective. Vanessa will guide you through a range of techniques, including touch, breath, movement, imagery, and processes of embodiment to help you engage your body’s wisdom and feel safe, relaxed, and balanced.

And as we journey deeper into our bodies, we will also draw upon ancient shamanic practices to help you connect with your inner wisdom, intuition and guidance. Vanessa will guide you through powerful shamanic journeys that will awaken your soul’s desires and intuitively align with the rhythms of the natural world. Complete your weekend by indulging in ancient ritual of a cacao ceremony and unlock the heart-opening properties and health benefits of this plant medicine.

At the heart of our retreat is the understanding that trauma and stress impact the nervous system and have a major impact on your overall health and coping ability. (If you'd like to understand why a somatic approach to managing the impact of trauma is necessary watch this video). We will use somatic movement and shamanic journeying to help you engage the parts of your brain-body that are key to managing stress and unlocking your body's natural wisdom to heal itself.

Vanessa’s unique approach is tender and empowering, and has been shown to be highly effective for managing chronic pain, processing and regulating emotions, managing blood pressure, integrating trauma, releasing chronic stress, managing menopausal symptoms, and addressing autoimmune dis-ease such as diabetes, thyroid issues, and fibromyalgia.

The Walk Your Talk retreat is not just about managing stress. It’s about remembering who you are, ‘coming home’ to the authentic you, finding your agency and realising your true potential. You will feel empowered and revitalised once again.

Travel

How to get to Rosehip Barn at Trefrank Farm?

From the A30 take the Kennards House junction on to the A395 signposted Camelford/Bude. Continue along this road for approximately 8 miles, ignore the first sign for St Clether (even if Sat Nav tells you to take it!). Continue on the A395 passing Moorview Garage and some windmills, when you see a parking lay-by on your right slow down and indicate left, take sharp left turn onto a country lane signposted St Clether. Drive down this road for 1 mile until you reach RoseHip Barn – a large stone barn with balconies. Rosehip Barn is part of Trefrank Farm. Parking is directly opposite.

TIP: Book your accommodation at the same time as your retreat. Cornwall gets busy in the summertime!
